Patient Sitting

Angels Monitoring provides Patient Sitting for your loved ones to have a well-trained and experienced companion by their side at all times while in the hospital or long-term care facility.

Overview

Why engage a patient-sitter?

We all want to ensure that our loved ones are receiving good care while they are in the hospital or a long-term care facility, but we cannot always be there with them. With Angels Monitoring Patient sitting your loved one can have a well trained and experienced companion by their side at all times.

Feel like you are never getting updates? Just want to know how they are doing today or how their night went? Would you like to know that the care team stopped by? These are some of the many benefits of having an Angels Monitoring patient sitter.

Benefits

What we can do for your family

  • Documentation: Medication administration (time and type). The general time of when your loved one went to bed and woke up. How long it takes hospital staff to respond when a request is made.
  • When your loved one can’t get basic things because they are bedridden, we can help! Basic tasks such as getting blankets/pillows, entertainment (books, games, crafts), adjusting the temperature in the room, and getting things like water or small snacks (when approved by medical staff) so they do not have to wait longer for hospital staff.
  • Assistance with technology – One of the most frustrating things is having the ability to communicate with somebody in this situation but not being able to because of the lack of understanding of technology. Many times they may have a phone but can’t figure out how to do a video call or can’t find the device or forget to charge it. These are all basic tasks a patient sitter can resolve.
  • Schedule keeping – Updating the family on when a provider will be visiting the room. Having a conversation with the family about concerns they have and being able to relay the message if the family Is unavailable when the provider is.
  • Relaying information back to the family from hospital staff in an accurate way to ensure the family is informed.

Getting Started

How we work together with medical staff, families, and patients

Will we administer medicines? No, we will not. We can document when the patient does take medicines and what type but we cannot administer them.

Will we provide medical care? No, we cannot help the patient to the bathroom or turn them to avoid bedsores (or other similar tasks), but we will get the medical staff to perform these functions promptly and provide appropriate documentation of the request.

What hours are Patient Sitters available? 24x7x365, with Angels Monitoring we always have a monitor available. Visits must be scheduled in advance with your local location however in some cases we can have patient sitters available the same day or as soon as the same week.
