Supervised Visitation

Angels Monitoring has been in the supervised visitation industry for over ten years. During that time, our focus has always been on evolving and improving our process. We are here every step of the way to make an extremely challenging time more manageable.

Angels Monitoring; reuniting families, one visit at a time.

Our Process

Overview

Have you been ordered by the court to have supervised visitation? Not sure how to get started or what to expect? Give us a call and allow Angels Monitoring to be your family’s perfect partner to help you through this difficult process.

New Client Intake Process

Our steps from the first call to having your first visit:

  • Step 1: We will start with a phone call to get an understanding of the agreement, review court documents, handle concerns, and decide on a visitation schedule. This will be our initial conversation about your situation. We aim to learn about your situation and make a plan that works for everyone involved. This process will be done with both parents separately.

  • Step 2: Fill out and sign the intake paperwork and rules of visitation. Get the signed paperwork back to the location facilitating your visits.

  • Step 3: In addition to the paperwork, our staff may request further information, such as a recent photo of the child/children, a copy of your driver’s license, and any relevant details about the case. Such examples would include stay-away orders, orders of protection, allergies, medical concerns for the child, or any other major concerns we should be aware of related to visitation.

Ways we can help:

Monitored Visitation

We have a very flexible monitoring program with a wide range of monitors and scheduling options. Visits can be done in public places or we can arrange private visits. Public places typically include places like: Parks, Aquariums, Children’s museums, restaurants, libraries, Malls, and Bowling alleys just to name a few. Private in-home visits are available as well when it is agreeable. Angels Monitoring will work with both parents to address any concerns about these locations.

Custody Exchanges

We understand the exchange of children with the other parent can be stressful or damaging to the children at times. For this, we offer monitored exchanges. This service is an excellent way to keep both parties distance from each other and ensure your child’s safety. This service also comes with documented notes that can be used in court if needed.

Court Appearances

In many of these situations appearing in court is inevitable. We are happy to come to court and provide our experiences between you and your child. Provide supporting documentation on our visits and help to provide clarity to the court on the relationship between the child/children and the parent. Angels Monitoring never makes recommendations on custody arrangements or ongoing monitoring needs except in therapeutic visitation.

Online Video Visitation

This service is the same as a regular supervised visit but via Zoom (video calls). This allows for communication and documentation of the visit to be done when there are challenges with location and or time. With the Zoom visits, you will have a one-to-one experience with the monitor so their attention will always be with your child/children and can help facilitate the visit as much as they can remotely to keep communication between both parents to a minimum.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a supervised visitation monitor do?

A supervised visitation monitor ensures that visits between a child and a non-custodial parent happen in a safe, neutral, and supportive environment. The monitor’s role is to observe interactions, document what occurs, and step in only when safety or court-ordered rules are at risk. They do not take sides or make custody recommendations — their focus is maintaining a positive and secure experience for the child while upholding court guidelines.

Rates vary depending on location, visit length, and type of supervision (in-person, therapeutic, or virtual). Angels Monitoring offers competitive hourly rates that reflect the training and professionalism of its monitors. Some offices provide reduced-rate or nonprofit-funded options for families with financial need. Contact your local Angels Monitoring office for current pricing and available assistance programs.

During every visit, the monitor records objective observations about what takes place — such as arrival and departure times, behaviors, communication between parent and child, and any rule violations or safety concerns. Personal opinions or interpretations are not included. These notes may be requested by the court or attorneys as an official record of compliance and conduct.

All Angels Monitoring staff complete professional training that meets or exceeds California’s state standards for supervised visitation and are certified in CPR and first aid. Monitors are also mandated reporters and undergo background checks before working with families. Many have additional education in social work, psychology, or child development, ensuring each visit is handled with skill, neutrality, and care.

Yes. A monitor can end or pause a visit immediately if a child’s safety, emotional well-being, or the court’s rules are at risk. This may include signs of aggression, intoxication, or inappropriate behavior. Any incident leading to termination is fully documented, and the court or referring party is notified in accordance with legal guidelines.
